A security bar on a door is a strong metal or adjustable bar designed to add extra protection by preventing forced entry. It is usually placed across the inside of a door or wedged under the doorknob to stop the door from being opened, even if the lock is picked or broken. Security bars are easy to install, don’t require drilling, and are commonly used on front doors, sliding glass doors, or hotel room doors for extra safety.
